Hi guys! It has obviously been a minute since my last blog post and I know y’all have missed this because I know I have too. I’m super excited to be making this my return blog post because it is packed with the most juicy features. Now this is not your regular food blog post, it is so much more than that.
Work and connect is a hybrid model enterprise support organisation located at Number 50, Ebitu Ewe street, Jabi, Abuja that holistically builds capacity, supports growth of youth led businesses, innovation-driven entrepreneurs and accelerating MSME’s. To break down all that English, Work and connect is simply an organisation that offers unique services like co-working spaces, shared desks, business bars, offices etc for rent. The work and connect space also features a conference hall, gym, lounge and restaurant. This means that as a creative, innovative young entrepreneur like myself who cannot afford to own my own organisation, I can easily rent a work friendly and innovative space which offers me WIFI, business address, telephone services, a singe display advertising my small business and training rooms for my small team where I can conveniently carry out all my work, hold my meetings and training sessions at a very affordable rate. How COOL is that??? Well you might think that’s all but nahhh, there’s also one more awesome thing, FOOD is just one call away. Work and connect has a restaurant named Connect Bistro & grill located in the same building that is open to the general public and not just members of work and connect alone.
Here’s a breakdown of the services offered by work and connect and a review of Connect Bistro –
WORK AND CONNECT – Full review
Like I have stated earlier, work and connect is an organisation that offers co-working spaces, dedicated desks, business bars for rent. The work and connect organisation is a tastefully designed both indoors and outdoors. The co-working space is located on the ground floor together with the restaurant. It has some really cool features like a kitchenette that offers free coffee, free WIFI, a lounge where you can take aa break from work, a locker storage for your personal belongings, a male and female bathroom and an interesting phone booth. The phone both is a private, sound proof space where members of the co-working space can make phone calls without disturbing other members, it also features a charging port that makes it even cooler. It is honestly one of the most thoughtful things I’ve ever since in a co-working space. The co-working spaces goes for NGN2,150 daily. Weekly and monthly subscriptions are also available at affordable rates as well.
Other parts of the work and connect organisation also include training rooms, offices, lounge, gym, meeting rooms, board rooms, meeting rooms and a mosque. The offices are of different packages. They have basic offices, standard offices, and executive offices. The basic office package comes with a desk and a chair, the standard offices are slightly bigger than the basic offices and also include a sofa, the executive offices on the other hand are ensuite. It offers a a larger office space and also a personal bathrooms. The training rooms, meeting rooms, and board rooms all have different set ups, pending your particular need or desire.
A notably distinctive feature of the work and connect organisation from other existing organisations of the same nature is that it has a male and female mosque. The mosque is located in a secluded area on the first floor that creates privacy of worship for muslim members of the organisation.
Connect Bistro and Grill – Full review
Ambience
The connect bistro and grill has an interestingly different vibe and decor as opposed to what we are normally used to seeing. The connect bistro and grill space fully depicts the whole work and dine concept. It features a lot of bright, popping colours and attractive writings on the walls. An interesting thing bout the bistro is that they have cute notes on the walls written by customers about their experience at the bistro.
Food/Drinks/Menu
First off, I just have to say that the connect bistro menu is really affordable. It offers a very wide range of local and international dishes which are reasonably priced. They also serve a variety of cold and hot drinks. This means that if you work around Jabi axis, connect bistro is a great place to spend your lunch break. This is because, you can get a large option of food to eat, free wifi, a chilled space, an option of indoor of outdoor dining, and also a great opportunity to connect with other creative, brilliant minded individuals.
For my meal, I had ;
Lunch time chicken sauce – NGN2,600
The lunch time chicken sauce was the highlight of my lunch at connect Bistro. My favourite thing about it were the child paper flakes and the mixed vegetables. It was bomb without the rice and also bomb with the rice as well. You can order the lunch time chicken sauce alone, or pair it with a different side dish. Either way, it is really tasty!
Vegetable rice – NGN800
The vegetable rice was awesome! It was packed with many vegetable that were vey tastefully cut. The vegetable portion did not outweigh the rice, which was really nice. Everything was adequately portioned. I also loved the serving dish of the rice. The only sad thing about the vegetable rice was that the general portion was small. I wanted moreeeeeeee. Although it was small it was surprisingly satisfying. By the time I was done eating, I could barely move because my stomach was really full.
Hustlers chapman – NGN1,300
The chapman was great. It tasted nice, just like every order chapman.
General Comment
I seriously admire the work and connect organisation because of its innovative and forward thinking policies. It is an incredible, modern innovation that is super beneficial to small entrepreneurs, creatives, freelancers and also a great place to expand your network in general. It is truly an all round, fantastic organisation with really affordable packages that have great benefits.
