Have you ever been to a Rainforest? No? well me neither, but today we are going to take that journey together! Grab your drinks and hold your horses because its about to get freaky in here.
Amazonia is a brand new rainforest themed restaurant situated at No. 7 Hombori street, Wuse 2, Abuja. (same location with Discovery museum,Escape room and Lagos Bistro). It’s a pretty splendid environment with fairly adequate parking spaces. They do offer a Valet service which is quite nice and uncommon in most restaurants here in Abuja. The restaurant accepts Walk in’s and reservations, but they prefer reservation though. So before you visit, make a reservation.

Here’s a detailed review of my visit to Amazonia;
The Ambience
“MY OH MY” that’s the phrase! The res ambience is amazing. Nothing like you’ve ever seen before. it features different shades of vibrant colors, wall murals, bamboo sticks and lots and lots of flowers, plants .etc. The walls were designed to look like a real rainforest with water flowing through the leaves. It is really cool! The tables had digital screens which display different nature images which gives you an actual feeling of the rainforest. The atmosphere is kinda cool, relaxing and had a very very natural feeling for an indoor space. It has a dim and warm kind of lighting which adds to the whole rainforest vibe. They also have a mini outdoor space which is actually enclosed but definitely looks like an open out door space. It had a few tables and bar like stools, it also had a lot of plants which gave it a little forest vibe.
The restaurant also has a new space which was currently been set up when i visited. It is a private dining space for small events which also embodies the theme of the main restaurant.
The Menu
The restaurant menu is not your typical conventional Nigerian menu. It features a lot of mouth watering dishes which are mostly seafood based and some of which i’m not sure i pronounced right. The meals are quite expensive to be very honest. The cheapest items on the food menu are the sides, which cost NGN3,500. I totally forgot to get a picture of the drinks menu but the drinks were pricey as well.

The food & Drinks
For the food, My sister and i had the Napolitana pasta and tacos.
NAPOLITANA PASTA – NGN7,500
The Napolitana pasta was a mix of spicy Neapolitan sauce and shrimp. I specifically asked them to make my pasta a little less spicy because i didn’t want anything really spicy. The pasta plating was a 10 i must say and the taste was equally great. The pasta was not to spicy, it was just right like i requested. It wasn’t dry which i really loved, it had the neapolitan sauce still dripping off it. The shrimps were quite big and they weren’t stingy at all. It was definitely worth it’s price.
TACO- NGN7,500
It was delicious! Unfortunately it was quite small for N7,500. I mean, i was expecting more that i was served but i just got two. The taco was described on the Menu as a Crispy squid and shrimp combo in a crispy taco sheet with gochujang and miso mayo but neither the squid nor taco sheet were crispy. However, they nailed the miso mayo and that’s what made it delicious.

Drinks
FLAMINGO – NGN3,200
The flamingo drink was a pineapple juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice and simple syrup combo. It was beautifully served and tasted nice. It was too sweet and it had a sour-ish lemony taste which i enjoyed. I didn’t at any point of sipping taste any cranberry juice though. It tasted more like lemon and pineapple juice.
PASSION FRUIT MARTINI – NGN3,500
The passion fruit Martini was a passion fruit syrup, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, egg white and sprite combo. I honestly did not enjoy it. It didn’t taste as good as the flamingo drink.

TAKEAWAY
My sister and i couldn’t finish up the food we ordered so we decided to get takeaway for later. Takeaway meals cost an extra charge of N400 each. The take away bags were really cute so i had to take a picture.

Total bill – NGN25,762.50
*Total bill includes VAT and service charges*
