Have you heard? Well I’m sure you probably have because it has been a month or two! For those who are a bit late to the party, Hans and Rene is NOW in Abuja! Now I know some of you are probably excited to see this and some are like, what exactly is Hans and Rene? Well, I’m here to tell you all about it!
Hans and Rene AKA the ‘connoisseurs of the sweet life’ is a confectionary company that sells quite the range of frozen desserts and pastries. The confectionary company has existed for over a decade now, with most of its operations in Lagos Nigeria. Over the years, they have launched up to 8 locations within the city of Lagos. Finally, in a bid to expand their horizon, they have launched an outlet here in Abuja.
Hans and Rene Abuja officially launched on the 27th of May 2022. It is located at No 75 Aminu Kano Crescent Wuse 2, Abuja (Inside Delis supermarket). It is a small and convenient ice cream spot and here’s all you need to know about it.
Ambience
The ambience is alright, a bit too basic if you ask me. The ice cream spot is located in an elevated corner of the supermarket, which gives you a view of the shoppers below. The spot is neat but can get a little rowdy because of a lot of customers and not enough space. The spot has a mini sitting area that can fit at most about 8-12 people. The space is generally very dull looking for an ice cream place. There are no attractive colours, artistic designs or furniture that ice cream/confectionary store normally have which is a tad bit disappointing. There is however an attractive ice cream display at the counter filed with many gelato and sorbet options. There is also a creative arc made with ice cream cups which gives the space a little exciting pop of attraction.
Ice cream!
They have many exciting varieties of ice cream flavours and it was so hard to choose from. Luckily, they offer you a free mini tasting so you can make a selection based of the tastes you prefer and not just what you think would be nice. I ended up settling for four distinct flavours and they were all incredible.
I got the salted caramel, malted milk, ferro rocher & salted caramel cookie crunch flavours. Each scoop cost N1,350 each.
Each ice cream flavour I tried had its own distinct and lovely taste. However, they all shared one feature in common, they were incredibly scrumptious. The ice cream flavours displayed are very unique and will satisfy the cravings of any ice cream lover. The ice cream is creamy, rich, tasty and has a luxurious texture. It is packed with different high quality ingredients and will definitely leave you wanting more. The only down side to the Hans and Rene ice cream is the scoop size. I wouldn’t really call it small, even though I feel its kinda small for that price but I’ll say its a medium sized scoop of ice cream.

General Review
Hans and Rene is definitely taking Abuja by storm with their uniquely created flavours. Their ice cream is creamy and delicious and they definitely have good service. It is a great ice cream spot but in my opinion, probably not an everyday ice cream spot because of the price and scoop size.
