Brunch Club Abuja – All day brunch spot II

Category: Casual Dinning

Budget: NGN15,000 – NGN20,000 (per person)

For the love of brunch and everything nice, here’s a blog post you don’t wanna miss! The brunch club is a little cozy cafe that serves all day brunch in Abuja. It is located at No 45 Gana Street, Maitama Abuja. It is open from 9am to 10am on Monday’s to Saturday’s and 10am to 9pm on Sunday’s.

Ambience

The restaurant space is generally very subtle. The decor is not doing too much but the space is very warm and relaxing. Since my last visit to Brunch club in 2021 there have been some noticeable upgrades to the spot. The space feels more natural and relatable now. They have some provisions for different games, books and also magazines for customers to enjoy. The ambience is perfect for breakfast/brunch dates, coffee, work, casual meetings, a solo retreat, book club meetings and also a paint and sip session.

Menu

For an all brunch cafe their menu includes quite a variety, from Nigerian to international to pastries and desserts, they have it all. They offer a range of drinks to match the food menu which is very nice. All the prices on the menu are reasonably affordable with fair sized portions.

Service

The restaurant service was fair. It was sufficient but not spectacular. It seemed as though they were a bit understaffed because it was just 2 waitresses attending to all the customers at the cafe which made the service a bit slow. The food wait time was also long. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a plain au chocolate croissant and about 40 minutes for the full Nigerian breakfast to be served.

Food & Drinks

My sister and I had the full Nigerian breakfast, plain au chocolate croissant and Jasmine tea. Although the food took some time to be ready it was definitely worth the wait. The full Nigerian breakfast is the best thing I spent my money on in January. It was absolutely filling and the flavours hit all the right notes in my tastebuds. The Plain au chocolate croissant was not left behind of course, it was freshly baked and served steamy hot, each bite was totally divine.

Rukky’s side note

I had a memorable brunch at Brunch club Abuja. I am glad to see that the food quality and standards have been maintained since my last review, in fact it has improved a little bit. A little more effort needs to be put in the quality of the service though. I look forward to trying more dishes and having more solo dates at the Brunch club.
