TEA TIME WITH RUMI LEAVES

Before I dive in, let me just say I am an absolute tea lover. My favourite tea flavours are strawberry and lemon but I think I am adding a new flavour to my list of faves so grab yourself a cup of tea and join me as I try out some new tea flavours!

Earlier last week I got a Dm on instagram from a new tea brand asking if I do reviews for teas and I was like woah! I absolutely do! so we discussed some details and I received a package on Monday evening. Before the package arrived I was anxious all day. My anxiety was not only because I love tea and trying out things but also because it was my first ever PR package. I mean, I knew I was doing ok with my entire food blog thingy but I didn’t actually realise I was PR package worthy.

The package arrived in cute little brown paper bag which had orange silk cloth handles which I found totally adorable. It was the first time I was seeing a paper bag with such handles. I received a total of three flavours – Hibiscus, herbal tea and exotic bloom.

The hibiscus and herbal tea came in tea bags, while the exotic bloom was a loose tea blend.

Rumi leaves hibiscus tea

I’m starting off with this tea flavour because it turned out to be my favourite out of the three flavours I received. Prior to this package I had never tried hibiscus tea before, in fact I didn’t even know it existed. I have had different tastes of countless hibiscus drinks and they were truly great but I never thought of what it would be like as a tea. The first and most beautiful thing about this tea flavour is the colour. It has a beautiful purple/burgundy colour when you brew it. one of the reasons I love the colour is that you can tell its natural, unlike most teas that are usually artificially coloured.

The tea wasn’t just plain hibiscus, it had a hint of mint and lemon grass. I tried it with sugar at first and it was great but the next morning I mixed it with honey and it tasted even better! The hibiscus tea is not only delicious but it also comes with some health benefits like lowering blood pressure, boosting kidney and liver functions and so much more. This makes it an organic, natural, delicious and healthy tea blend. A pack of the tea comes with fifteen tea bags and it costs just NGN1,000.

Rumi leaves Herbal tea

Like most herbal tea’s the rumi leaves herbal tea was a green tea. However, it had some other flavours infused in it like cinnamon, ginger and mint. Unlike the hibiscus tea, the herbal tea didn’t really have a popping colour, it looked like normal green tea.

The other flavours infused into the tea weren’t really significant in the taste. The most significant taste was the green tea, I could barely taste the ginger in it but i did sense a taste of cinnamon in it. When I tried it with sugar I didn’t really enjoy it but I absolutely loved it with honey. I also tried it out with a squeeze of fresh lemon and honey and it was also great. It helps in boosting your immune system which is a great necessity at this time, it promotes weight loss and relieves indigestion. Just like the hibiscus tea, the herbal tea comes in a pack of 15 tea bags and it costs NGN1,000.

Rumi leaves exotic bloom

Exotic bloom is a different kind of tea. It doest come in tea bags like the other two flavours, its a loose tea blend which automatically means it is brewed differently. To brew this tea, you will need an infuser to avoid spilling loose tea leaves into the tea cup. It looks like the green tea but its much darker in colour. The most significant taste the tea has is mint. The tea is surely exotic! it contained a burst of flavours ranging from mint, green tea, a tiny hint of hibiscus and many more flavours that I can’t really place till this moment but they all go together really well and give you a wonderful and delicious taste. It costs NGN1,000 for a bag.

Side note

All in all I’d like to say that rumi leaves has a unique and quality blend of tea flavours. You can tell that each tea flavour is carefully made with natural and organic ingredients that not only taste great but also smell amazing, it improves your health and is super affordable. I totally recommend it for anyone out there who is a tea lover.
